Onassis Scholars’ Association: Activities and Synergies
Like every vibrant community, the Onassis Scholars’ Association keeps itself active through a variety of initiatives, activities, and collaborations that both realize the aims of its members and resolve pressing societal issues of today and tomorrow.
Taking culture, education, and healthcare as its foundational pillars, the Association undertakes and organizes activities and events – both of its own accord, and in collaboration with other stakeholders – that are of interest to its members, and to society as a whole.
Guided by the sciences and by the interests of its scholars, the Association undertakes activities with an emphasis on innovation, ground-breaking technologies, and digital development, the city, diversity, and inclusivity, as well as issues such as the climate crisis and the place of the individual within society as a whole, and topics that concern the southeast Mediterranean, the Middle East, and North Africa.
The Association also runs initiatives to support its members and bolster their work, providing funds for the publication of doctoral theses, post-doctoral research, and the inclusion of articles in academic journals.

The Onassis Scholars’ Association believes firmly in the value of cooperation and idea exchange – with other people, other organizations, and other stakeholders, both in Greece and around the world. To this end, it continues to build and maintain an extensive network of partners with a view to actuating development, launching initiatives, and undertaking activities that relate both to the mission and values of the Association, and to the topics it places at the heart of its action at any given time.
Past Association activities and initiatives have been undertaken in collaboration with such stakeholders as the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, Onassis Stegi, the Hellenic Parliament, the British Embassy Athens and British Council, the SciCo (Science Communication) educational organization, the Organization Earth NGO, the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and the Hellenic Film Academy.
