Workshop with Shady El Noshokaty

A two-day workshop into creative thinking processes by Shady El Noshokaty.

During the workshop titled "Emotional thinking" Shady Elnoshokaty will focus on his recent research and art practices which have a diverse and cross-disciplinary nature. Shady will also present the ASCII project, a research center, interactive new media art lab and library space in Egypt. This two-day workshop and discussion will delve into creative thinking processes and possible methodologies in using ready-made data in arts, such as creating the mathematical diagrams of human emotions as one of the alternative conceptual thinking methods. We will also discuss the artist ethics in using today's found online materials, be it videos, photographs, or personal documents. Finally, we will discuss the concept of “the alternative" in thinking and researching ideas within the contemporary artistic and curatorial practices.

The workshop takes place as part of the Fall 2019 Critical Practices Intensive Month curated and designed by Raed Yassin.
