Imagine a garden full of sounds that focus your attention on your surroundings – an imaginary soundscape that aims to stimulate hearing and lead you to reflect on the relationship between the natural and the human world. The Garden of the French Archeological School at Athens is to be installed with sound art pieces conceived specially for this space, enhancing its acoustic life with sonic surprises in the process.

A celebration of the world of sound, this exhibition is the fourth to be held as part of the European Sounds Now project, which is bringing audiences into different public spaces across five European cities and creating auditory experiences that aim to stimulate human engagement with the environment, with one another and other species, and with our shared commons and rhythms.

Sound installations, which lie at the heart of this program, are seen as enabling potential new perceptions while also raising awareness about the need for change on a societal level.
