Introduction
Listen to the world through a sound installations project. The Onassis Stegi invites you to explore human relations through sound. How could familiar narratives of people who are not often heard become vehicles for a sonic empathy that questions exclusion? “Sonic Stories” suggests three different approaches to sound as a way of renewing our sensitivity towards the world.

Drawing on major projects presented by Stegi in the recent past, such as “Tuned City” and “Soundscapes / Landscapes,” “Sonic Stories” focuses on how we can interpret our relationship to the world around us through sound. How does sound offers us the potential to understand in new ways? How can we trace the elements of a shared becoming between three iconic Mediterranean cities? How can sound enrich and intensify our relationship to the environment and the threats it faces? How can the intimate narratives of people who are not often heard become vehicles for a sonic empathy that challenges exclusion?
In a world dominated by visual information, sound has an immediacy that cuts through codes and conventions to elicit a visceral reaction from us. But listening can also reveal new clues to us, leading to histories not yet heard, relationships we have not perceived, and voices silenced for too long. “Sonic Stories” brings together three different approaches to sound as a way to renew our sensitivity to the world.
