For two days, the Onassis Stegi’s Main Stage will vibrate to the rhythm of “Remains of Dreams.” In this performance by the students of the National School of Dance graduating class, you will have the chance to applaud the new talents of contemporary dance, performing pieces by Ioannis Mandafounis, Marco Goecke, and Rainer Behr.

The National School of Dance (KSOT) continues tirelessly its educational and artistic work aiming to promote contemporary dance in Greece. On July 16th and 17th, the students of the KSOT graduating class of 2022 complete their studies with the performance “Remains of Dreams,” featuring choreographies by Ioannis Mandafounis, Marco Goecke, and Rainer Behr.

These three choreographers have their own distinct gaze and approach: “AliMia” by Ioannis Mandafounis creates an imaginary world of ideas, images, and human relations showcasing the ideal ‘free body’. In “Blushing,” Marco Goecke explores what happens when someone blushes. How can this be caused by a word or a gesture? Finally, Rainer Behr’s “Broken Circle” addresses a situation where there is no way out and social bonds collapse inside us. But there is always hope for what may be hidden behind the erected walls.
