An all-star quartet rooted in the musicians’ desire to collaborate and co-develop and in the bringing together of different elements in a way which lets the individual and collective creative personalities of its members shine through.

It all began when Dave Holland re-joined forces with the charismatic guitarist, Kevin Eubanks, after a thirty-year hiatus. Their intellectual and artistic bond would form the core of the group, which was joined by the drummer Eric Harland and the pianist Craig Taborn. Starting out with a joint commitment not to retread old and familiar paths, they set out to blaze an entirely new and contemporary trail together.

The first among equals, Holland lays down the foundations for the group sound literally and metaphorically with his bass and flights of creative fancy. Their collective efforts have added a new chapter to the double bassist’s already impressive career.

The group combines sonic elegance with harmonic refinement, virtuosic sections with emotive unisons, memories of Eighties bands with a range of disparate influences fused together with inspiration and a lot of hard work.
