Once Upon a Time...2 Musical Tales for Narrator and Orchestra

For Season 2015-16, THE HELLENIC PROJECT develops further the idea of creating a repertory inspired by Greek tradition, with an educational and artistic character.

This idea was already put into action for two cycles, and ‘gave birth’ to six traditional fairy tales for a narrator and symphonic orchestra. These were performed in April 2013 and March 2014 by Armonia Atenea Orchestra.

THE HELLENIC PROJECT commissioned Achilles Guastor and Tassos Rossopoulos to compose works which will bring to life two traditional Greek fairy tales. This idea was met with great enthusiasm by the artistic director of the Athens Symphonic Orchestra (KOA), Stephanos Tsialis. The musical fairy tales will be performed by KOA.
