Live Performance

At the opening of the exhibition on December 12, from 8:30 to 9:30 PM, artist Moritz Simon Geist will present the techno-robotic performance “Tripods One.”

Onassis ONX and Onassis AiR invite you to a dynamic four-day event filled with exhibitions, talks, and meetings with creators, producers, and organizations that delve into the evolving relationship between humans and machines, questioning their boundaries and seeking out the eerie and the intimate within them.

Over the course of these four days, you will engage with works-in-progress, complete projects, discussions with artists, performances, and masterclasses with invited international speakers. This is a chance to reflect on what we call ‘post-digital art,’ i.e., art in a world where digital is no longer a novelty but second nature, blurring the lines between humans and nonhumans.

Emerging new media artists from across Europe explore the concept of radical intimacy as the critical stake of technology.

“Radical Intimacy”
The four-day event begins on Thursday, December 12, with the exhibition “Radical Intimacy,” as part of the European Media Art Platform (EMAP) residency program, showcasing works that explore the body―planetary, human, and nonhuman―emerging forms of labor, urban touristification, interspecies communication, and the limits of artificial intelligence.

“Radical Intimacy” shines a spotlight on not just the digital artist but also the producers, technologies, and teams that make these projects a reality—raising critical questions about cost, sustainability, and the future of such endeavors.

The exhibition brings together emerging new media artists from across Europe to explore the concept of radical intimacy in the post-digital world. Featured works include: “My Want of You Partakes of Me” by Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner, a visceral journey through space and the body, reframing them as entities rather than exploitable resources; “How to Make an Ocean” by Kasia Molga, a meditation on climate change and the life-giving potential of tears; “V-Real” by SOAP, an extended reality (XR) dive into the commodified intimacy of our homes and the Airbnb ‘oceans’; “Meditative Cohabitation” by Studio Above&Below and Yau Fan, an audiovisual exploration of interspecies communication; “Hardly Working” by Total Refusal, a celebration of the silent background characters in video games; “Cascade” by Marc Vilanova, a sound-and-light installation that challenges perceptions of time and space; and “Tripods One” by Moritz Simon Geist, a live techno-robotic performance where each sound is produced by robotic musical instruments, exploring the relationship between human creativity and mechanical precision.

The exhibition also showcases projects developed as part of the Onassis ONX Immersive Proof-of-Concept (PoC). Teams of creators, developers, and producers experimented with cutting-edge technologies to craft immersive worlds and storytelling techniques. Participants include ESTO Association with “Side Hustle”; Artemis Sartzetakis and Babak Ahteshamipour with “Fruits of the Web”; Stratos Bichakis with “A Sense of Time”; and Collective Continuum with “SolastalgiaXR.” These projects explore different aspects of radical intimacy, from the online body and digital labor to the expressive limits of light or the environmental grief in the face of extreme weather conditions such as floods.

The exhibition is realized in the framework of the European Media Art Platform (EMAP) residency program, co-funded by the Creative Europe program of the European Union.

The Onassis ONX Immersive Proof-of-Concept projects, talks, and masterclasses are implemented in the framework of the Smart Attica European Digital Innovation Hub actions, co-funded by the European Union.
