Hommage to Mauricio Kagel

Mauricio Kagel, a master of irony and of subversion as a creative act, probably contributed more than any other composer to the conception and formulation of the New Music Theater.

Based around the magnum opus of music theater, “Staatstheater” (1971), singers, musicians, actors and technicians will stage a specially prepared amalgam of representative works spanning Kagel’s entire career throughout the Onassis Stegi’s public spaces.

A selection of the artist’s most characteristic films will be screened in parallel, while both days will end with a concert of his work on the Upper Stage.
