1st Greek Jazz Panorama

Three of the most interesting ensembles in Greek jazz and world music scene will be appearing in a mini festival at the Onassis Stegi with guest musicians from around the Mediterranean. George Trantalidis and Trilogia will be playing with Gilad Atzmon, the Israel-born saxophonist and political activist who has won over a lot of Athenian jazz lovers in recent years; Mode Plagal, the grand daddies of Greek ethnic jazz will be joining forces with the Moroccan singer and guimbri virtuoso, Majid Bekkas, an exceptional exponent of the Gnawa tradition; and the quartet led by the ney virtuoso and innovator, Harris Lambrakis, will be making music with the Italian flautist Andrea Romani.
