What sort of music is played by a band that hacked and made a distinct electronic sound on its own? Make your own DIY musical instruments, set the school on fire, and plug your class in!

DIY stands for “Do It Yourself,” and this is the starting point for a creative music workshop for you and your classmates. Together with artists and educators, you design and create self-made musical instruments, turning the whole class into a music group.

You find old utensils at school or at home and you “fix” them, you turn into a manufacturer and a technician, you mess with electronic circuits, and give new life to objects that would end up in the garbage bin – this is how you enter the world of upcycling, that is of creative re-use.

See the musical side of all the things you learned in your Science class about sound and electricity, and hack into different objects to find your class’s unique sound.
