A group of high school students prepare to participate in the Greek national parade. When a student is targeted by her bullying teacher due to her nationality, her classmates react and defend her; conflict is inevitable. The group decides to run away to escape the consequences and finds refuge on the top of a nearby hill. There, as if they were found in a parallel world, they seem to have forgotten the worries of everyday life. The film is the director’s graduation project, completed during his studies at the MA program Cinéma ÉCAL/HEAD. The film was financed by Cinéforom and premiered at the competition program of the 26th Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur; it was also screened as part of the Schools Without Borders program of the 76th Locarno International Film Festival. As it competed in the 46th Drama International Short Film Festival’s National Student Competition Program, the film won the Best Sound Design, Best Editing, and Best Greek Educational Film “Frida Liappa” awards. It also won the Best Greek Student Film Award at Athens’ Spicy Indie International Film Festival. “The Parade” was screened at many international festivals, including the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Pragueshorts Film Festival, Athens International Film Festival – Opening Nights, Festival Tous Courts, Landshut Short Film Festival, Mecal Pro, and Olympia Film Festival for Children and Young People.
