Synopsis

In a vast and desolate coast, around the mid-19th century, a group of Grand Tour voyagers are seeking Arcadia and the ancient ruins, the symbols of an emerging Greek and European identity. “Mare Nostrum” had its world premiere at Vienna Shorts 2020, the Vienna International Short Film Festival. Since June of 2020, it was screened at more than twenty film festivals across the world (among them, El Gouna Film Festival, Villeurbanne, KineNova, Shorts Mexico, Gijon Film Festival, Istanbul Ifsak), receiving several awards, such as a Jury Special Mention at KineNova, Best Cinematography Award at the Drama International Short Film Festival, a Special Mention at the Athens International Film Festival, a Cinematic Achievement Award at the Thessaloniki International Short Film Festival
