William Cardoso's work is known for its contradictory, unpredictable, creative, and committed spirit. The pieces address intimate and personal issues that affect everyone, pointing the finger at a heterogeneous and patriarchal society. Hungry for change and consumed by the rage of injustice, the work focuses heavily on the concept of combat and physical effort in order to defend the various subjects of the pieces.
On an artistic level, William continues to forge its own identity in a singular language. A dialogue between bodies in conflict with their minds. He explores the concept of dance contact taken in the wrong direction, characterized by a non-fluid appearance and dry, raw movements.
William Cardoso is an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2023-24 in the framework of Grand Luxe Network.
