Theodoros Lotis

Theodoros Lotis studied the guitar, flute and composition in Greece, Belgium and the UK. He has completed a Ph.D. in Music at the City University in London thanks to grants from the British Academy and the A.S. Onassis Foundation.

Having produced several instrumental works and collaborated with artists from various disciplines (dance, theater, video) his current endeavors in music are focused on spectrum, timbre, sonic space and light.

His music has been performed at festivals and conferences in Europe, Australia, America and Asia. He has received a number of awards and distinctions at Bourges, Sculpted Sound Composers, Métamorphoses, Luigi Russolo, CIMESP, and Jeu de temps / Times Play competitions. He was awarded the first prize at the Spatialization competition “L’Espace du son” 2002.

He is Associate Professor at the Ionian University, and founding member of the Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association and the Hellenic Society for Acoustic Ecology.
