Rachel Shearer
Rachel Shearer is an artist based in Aotearoa New Zealand. Rachel’s work and research investigates sound as a medium through a range of practices and contexts: art installation, composing/producing/performing experimental music, writing, as well as collaborating as a sound designer/composer for moving image and live performance events. Rachel’s research explores sonic practices related to a close listening to the earth through Māori and Western technologies and philosophies. Rachel affiliates to Rongowhakaata, Te Aitanga ā Māhaki iwi (extended kinship groups) and Pākehā (NZ European).
