Maria Athanasiou

Maria Athanasiou was born in 1977 in the village of Vassilika, northern Evia. She graduated from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, when it was housed in the beautiful Mandalidion Building, and she has not forgotten the classes that were taking place while the sun was sinking into the Thermaic Gulf. She decided to become a reporter at the age of 14 and never regretted it. He holds a master’s degree in International Relations and European Politics from the University of Edinburgh. During the first years of he career, she engaged in television reporting, she then spent a wonderful decade working for the radio station Flash 96, and since 2012 she has been lucky enough to be on the editorial team of “Kathimerini”’s Sunday supplement “K.” She is married and the mother of three wonderful children for whom her love, admiration, and respect grows deeper day by day. She tries to not forget how beautiful life is and to smile every single day.
