Bio

Kristina Melbø Valvik (b. 1991) is a curator, producer, and dramaturg based in Bergen, Norway. She holds an MA in theater history from the University of Bergen and an MA in curatorial practice from the Faculty of Fine Art, Music, and Design (KMD) in Bergen. Kristina is part of the curatorial team at BIT Teatergarasjen. BIT Teatergarasjen co-produces and presents Norwegian and international performing arts with a specific emphasis on projects that encourage international collaboration and transcend artistic genres. Kristina started working with BIT Teatergarasjen as the curator of Prøverommet in 2016, an independent multidisciplinary nomadic gallery in Bergen. She has also been a producer and co-curator in the discourse program of two BIT Teatergarasjen’s biennials, “Meteor” and “Oktoberdans”. In 2019, she participated in the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York (through Office for Contemporary Art Norway) and, in 2022, she was an artist in residence at the Nordic Artists’ Centre Dale (NKD).
