Irini Kalaitzidi

Bio
Irini Kalaitzidi is a dance artist who works with various technological means, programming, and machine learning to explore critical and caring modes of engaging with the body. Her practice aims to disrupt rigid notions of dance, the dancing body, and its image, shaped by patriarchal residues. Her works, be they dance performances or lectures, video art, and articles, have been presented internationally at cultural institutions and platforms such as Onassis Stegi, Somerset House and DRHA. Alongside her artistic practice, Irini works as a lecturer in creative computing at Goldsmiths and University of the Arts London, with a desire to connect choreography with computational thinking.

Irini Kalaitzidi is a participant of the Tailor-made Residencies program 2023-24.
