Koutlis has directed the following performances: “The Ugly One” by Marius von Mayenburg (New Theater “Katerina Vasilakou–Marianna Toli”); “Sognatta terra tu m’appartiens,” a performance on the Greek painter Konstantinos Parthenis (National Gallery); the chamber opera "Strella," composed by Michalis Parascakis (Greek National Opera’s Alternative Stage); "The Man from Podolsk" by Dmitry Danilov, which was first staged in Greece in his own translation (“Nikos Kourkoulos” Stage, National Theater of Greece; “Kivotos” Theater); "The Dog, the Night, and the Knife" by Marius von Mayenburg (Piraeus 260 stage H, Athens and Epidaurus Festival); "The Gamblers" by Nikolai Gogol, in his own translation and adaptation (“Kivotos” Theater); "The Dream of a Ridiculous Man" by Fyodor Dostoevsky, in his own translation and adaptation (cooperation with the Municipal Regional Theater of Crete―tour in Crete―and Poreia Theater); Alexandr Ostrovsky’s "Mudrets” and Dario Fo’s “Accidental Death of an Anarchist” (Vene Teater main stage, Tallinn, Estonia); "Playing the Victim" by the Presniakov brothers, which was staged for the first time in Greece in his own translation ("Katina Paxinou" Stage, National Theater of Greece); and "The Government Inspector from Petersburg," thesis project based on Nikolai Gogol's play "The Inspector" (GITIS, Moscow).
He teaches acting at the Athens Conservatoire Drama School and stage directing at the National Theater of Greece Drama School.
Between 2022 and 2023, he was the artistic director of the "Katina Paxinou" Experimental Stage of Young Creators of the National Theater of Greece.
