Fredy Vallejos’s aesthetic preoccupation, characterized by the exploration of a sonorous universe that is multiple and heterogeneous, is based on ethnomusicological research works that have been formalized using computer-assisted orchestration tools and on the relationship of sound with other art forms. Native from Colombia, he started studying at the University of Nariño. He carried on his degree course at the Conservatory Antonio Maria Valencia in Cali, from 1996 to 2002, and got a master’s degree in Musical Interpretation at the Departmental Institute of Fine Arts. He got the End of Studies Diploma at the Lyon’s Conservatory. At the same time, he improved his instrumental writing with Philippe Leroux at the CRD of Blanc-Mesnil (2007-2009), carried on a master’s in Musicology at the University of Lyon, composition class at the Haute école de Musique of Geneva, a master’s in Computer Music at Jean Monnet University (Saint Etienne) and the Cursus IRCAM in Paris. Currently he’s professor at University of Arts in Ecuador.
