Crystal Bobb-Semple
Crystal Bobb-Semple is the Founder and CEO of Plato Learning, the company behind the exuberant literacy-themed summer camps, Camp Half-Blood, Jupiter, and Daring Girls. Her company transforms classic stories into multimodal explorations of literature, history, and identity. Since 2010 her company has established itself as one of the foremost summer enrichment programs in New York City and now has camp programs in 6 states and a virtual presence across 24.
She is founder of the Stuyvesant Heights Parents Association and a trustee of the Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn, NY. She previously owned and operated Brownstone Books.
Crystal is a graduate of Hampton University, holds an M.P.A. from the University of Delaware, and is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Education. Her research is on the intersection of literacy, identity, and community.
