Constanze Güthenke

Constanze Güthenke is Associate Professor of Greek Literature in the Classics Faculty of the University of Oxford, as well as E.P. Warren Praelector at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. She has written and is writing on European and international Hellenism, Modern Greek literature in a comparative context, classicisms and postclassicisms, and the history of classical knowledge and scholarship. She is the author of "Placing Modern Greece: the Dynamics of Romantic Hellenism 1770-1840" (Oxford 2008), and of a study of Classical Scholarship in Nineteenth Century Germany (forthcoming from Cambridge University Press). She is also the editor of the Classical Receptions Journal (published by Oxford University Press). From 2002 to 2014 she taught in the Classics Department and the Center for Hellenic Studies at Princeton University.
