Cat Hope

Cat Hope (b. 1966, Australia) is a composer, performer, and researcher. She is the artistic director of and flautist in the Decibel new music ensemble, which focuses on music combining acoustic and electronic instruments. She has premiered new works for flute by composers such as Roger Smalley, Lionel Marchetti, Èliane Radigue, and a range of other international artists. She has performed and recorded with Clocked Out, Hugo Race and the True Spirit, Quartered Shadows, and Alea. She is also an electric bass improviser, a professor of music at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, and currently a fellow at the Hamburg Institute for Advanced Study.
