Bryony Dunne

Bio

Bryony Dunne is an Irish visual artist and filmmaker whose research-driven fabulations challenge anthropocentric and speciesist attitudes. Her films, photographs, sculptures and texts explore the power dynamics between humanity/nature and fantasies of human control. Using fact-based fictions and hypothetical futures to build these interconnected narratives, she alludes to the parallels between human and nonhuman migration and circulation. Her work has been exhibited at the Mosaic Rooms (London), The Mosaic Rooms (London), Gypsum gallery and Townhouse (Cairo), the Irish Film Institute (Dublin), Depo İstanbul (Istanbul), among other venues, and she has participated in a number of international film and video festivals, including the Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival (Greece), Cork International Film Festival (Ireland), and Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin. She is currently a resident at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht.

Bryony Dunne is a participant of The School of Infinite Rehearsals of Οnassis AiR 2020-21 and of the Tailor-made Fellowships program 2022-23.
