Artemis Vavatsika

Artemis Vavatsika is a classically trained accordionist. She was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She has graduated from the Athenaeum Conservatory (2012) and the Department of Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki (2018). She has participated in the Italian Accordion Academy series of seminars focusing on accordion, improvisation, composition, and the Alexander Technique (2019–2020). She is currently conducting research on the applications of improvisation in music education, through a Master’s program in “Music Sciences and Arts” at the University of Macedonia (2021–2022). She has participated in modern classical and folk music concerts in Greece and abroad, in opera and theater productions, and in album recordings. She has been teaching the accordion since 2013.
