Aris Kaplanidis

Aris Kaplanidis studied painting at Ornerakis’ School of Arts. His first short film “Inset” (2007) earned him a scholarship to Stavrakos Film School. His thesis short “Same Old Blues” (2010) competed at Drama International Short Film Festival. He has directed twelve films, including the feature “A Gospel According to Life” (2015) and is also the director and animator of the animated short film “From the Balcony” which premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival and has won ten awards so far. Along with Ilias Roumeliotis he has co-founded BrosInArts Animation Studios with ultimate artistic goal to explore modern Greece’s cinematic potential through animation.
