Andonis Foniadakis
As a dancer, he has collaborated with the Maurice Bejart’s ballet, the Ballet of Opéra de Lyon, the Saburo Teshigawara / Karas dance company, while he also danced with his own company, Apotosoma, which he founded in 2003 in Lyon.
In the course of his professional career, he has performed in works by Jiří Kylián, William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Mats Ek, among others, and has collaborated as a choreographer with ballets/dance companies, such as the National Dance Company of Spain, the Royal New Zealand Ballet, the Martha Graham Dance Company, the Ballet of Opéra de Lyon, the Geneva Ballet, the Ballet of Flanders, the Rambert Dance Company, the Staatsballett Hannover, the Sydney Dance Company, the Aterballetto Italy et al.; he also choreographed for three operas.
In 2014, he worked as movement tutor in Darren Aronofsky’s feature film “Noah.“
He is the recipient of the Danza & Danza Award in Italy as Best Choreographer of 2012, and the 2018 Best Choreography Award by the Union of Greek Critics for Drama and Music.
He has created eight works for his own company, Apotosoma: “Sensitive Screens Skins Intervals” (2003), “USE” (2004), “Rite of Spring” (2008), “All Things Are Quite Silent” (2009), “Romeo and Juliet” (2010), “Wisteria Maiden” (2014), “Priority” (2015), “Salema” (2019).
