Bio
Amanda Vincelli is a cultural organizer invested in creating liberatory spaces for personal and collective emancipation. She works towards realizing more just and ecological futures using the arts and commoning as tools for personal, social and economic transformation. She co-founded Navel, a resource centre for cultural workers in Los Angeles, where she also created a peer-learning program called "Assemblies".
Based in Tio’tia:ke/Montreal, she is involved with the SHIFT Center for Social Transformation, Brique par brique in Parc-Extension, Espace des Possibles, a community space in La Petite-Patrie dedicated to the socio-ecological transition, and Îlot, a citizen-managed local currency. She completed graduate studies in community economic development at Concordia, a MFA in photography and media at CalArts and a BAA in strategic design and management at the Parsons School of Design.
Amanda Vincelli is a participant of The School of Infinite Rehearsals of Οnassis AiR 2021-22 and of the Tailor-made Fellowships program 2022-23.
