The transformations of “Lapis Lazuli” never cease to amaze
A work on the borders of performance, dance, and visual arts. “Lapis Lazuli,” a performance we got to meet at the Main Stage of the Onassis Stegi last April, continues its successful tour around European theaters. On November 12 and 13, Euripides Laskaridis and the OSMOSIS team land at the Georgian International Festival of Arts, Tbilisi’s most important festival. From there, “Lapis Lazuli” will travel to Belgium, stopping at the city of Charleroi, at the influential Charleroi Danse Festival on Saturday, December 7, and at Liege and the Théâtre de Liège on December 11 and 12.
“Babybird Babybird” fies to Nicosia
How do social constructs still impose reproductive control? The documentary performance “Babybird Babybird” by Dimitris Babilis, which we watched on the Onassis Channel on YouTube in May 2021, travels to the Nicosia International Festival, in Nicosia, Cyprus, on November 19. Parents-to-be, a new mother, a midwife, a demographer, a sociologist, a neuroscientist, and an anti-natalist YouTuber reconvene to share their respective opinions on the complicated relationship between our sexual life and our reproductive potential.
This November’s “Earthquake” in Roubaix
Is it a vaudeville show? A concert? A confessional manifesto or a talk show? A denunciatory performance that redefines the stereotypes of Greek pop culture? Vasilis Vilaras’s phenomenal “Earthquake” travels to the theater “La Condition Publique” in Roubaix, France, on November 29 and 30; following an invitation from the organization La Rose des Vents and within the context of NEXT Arts Festival, a truly seismic performance will present a truly seismic performance next to Europe’s most renowned names. “Earthquake” was first presented at the Upper Stage of the Onassis Stegi in March 2024, as part of FUTURE N.O.W. 2023.
The tours of Onassis Stegi’s productions are realized with the support of the “Outward Turn” program.
