Onassis ONX partners with Tribeca Festival and Agog for Tribeca Immersive 2025
June 4–15, 2025 | New York
Onassis ONX continues to lead in digital art and immersive storytelling, joining forces with the Tribeca Festival and Agog: The Immersive Media Institute to co-curate and co-present "Tribeca Immersive" 2025. From June 4–15, "Tribeca Immersive" hosted by Water Street Projects at WSA will transform into a dynamic hub for new forms of immersive technology and use of emerging media highlighting innovation in impact-driven storytelling.
For over a decade, Tribeca Festival has been at the forefront of new media, spotlighting artists who push the boundaries of technology, narrative, and sensory experience. Now in its 14th year, the program continues to evolve, with Onassis ONX as a co-curator and co-producer, bringing its expertise in cutting-edge digital art and experimental media to an international stage for "Tribeca Immersive".
“As the lines between reality, the virtual, and the surreal continue to blur, immersive storytelling becomes a defining force in shaping shared experiences,” says Afroditi Panagiotakou, Director of Culture at the Onassis Foundation. “Onassis ONX, in partnership with Agog, is committed to identifying artists whose work has the power to reshape our reality. Tribeca, a cornerstone of the global art calendar, provides the perfect platform to showcase these transformative experiences.”
This year’s lineup will emphasize impact-driven narratives, featuring projects that engage with social change, community building, and technological innovation. Agog, a nonprofit dedicated to XR storytelling for social good, will help shape the showcase – ensuring that immersive media is not only boundary-pushing but also deeply resonant and purposeful.
This collaboration marks another milestone in Onassis ONX’s longstanding presence in the immersive media space. Last year, Onassis ONX participated in the festival’s Tribeca Circle Incubator. Since 2021, Onassis ONX members have presented projects that have redefined digital artistic expression at Tribeca Immersive. Beyond Tribeca, Onassis ONX has showcased groundbreaking works at the Venice International Film Festival, SXSW, BAM, cementing its role as a global force in new media art and experimental digital storytelling.
Tribeca Immersive 2025 will be open to the public with ticketed access, offering audiences an opportunity to engage with the next generation of storytelling, technology, and artistic vision – in real time.
The Tribeca Festival, presented by OKX, brings artists and diverse audiences together to celebrate storytelling in all its forms, including film, TV, music, audio storytelling, games, and immersive. With strong roots in independent film, Tribeca is synonymous with creative expression and entertainment. Tribeca champions emerging and established voices, discovers award-winning talent, curates innovative experiences, and introduces new ideas through exclusive premieres, exhibitions, conversations, and live performances.
The Festival was founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in 2001 to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of lower Manhattan following the attacks on the World Trade Center. The annual Tribeca Festival will celebrate its 24th year from June 4–15, 2025 in New York City.
In 2019, James Murdoch’s Lupa Systems bought a majority stake in Tribeca Enterprises, bringing together Rosenthal, De Niro, and Murdoch to grow the enterprise.
