Since 2023, this synergy has resulted in a two-month fellowship program that supports projects at the intersection of culture, technology, and human experience.

The projects supported through the Onassis AiR/ONX Fellowships program use technology as a medium and a subject of inquiry, often challenging notions of subjectivity and identity, dominant narratives, institutions, and the concept of the commons.

The Fellows of this strand work within the realm of art and advanced technologies, using media such as artificial intelligence and XR/VR/AR, as well as analog immersive experiences, games, spatial computing, digital performance, networked images, hardware sculptures, zombie technologies, and robots.

As part of this collaboration, Onassis AiR Fellows engaging with new and immersive technologies can work at Onassis Ready, the new building within the Onassis Foundation’s dynamic ecosystem dedicated to artistic creation and experimentation, while they also have the opportunity to visit the Onassis ONX’s studios in New York, to further develop aspects of their projects and to network in the US scene.

For the 2025–26 Onassis AiR/ONX Fellowships, we specifically invited proposals that combine immersive narratives with Mixed Realities and performative elements and address the potential of computational and network technologies to foster resilient and sustainable practices while taking environmental impact into consideration.
