This year, the Scholars’ Association has developed an online guide outlining the values, goals, programs, actions, and opportunities to new and existing members. The guide is designed to help everyone feel they are part of a community that encourages creativity and innovation.

Values and Mission of the Association
The Scholars’ Association mirrors the ideals of the Onassis Foundation, both in Greece and internationally. Comprising an impressive mosaic of talent, knowledge, experience, and disposition for social contribution, the values of excellence, inclusion, democracy, responsible leadership, and social justice mobilize the Scholars’ Association of the Foundation. Under these values, the Association has the mission of establishing communication between its members and fostering their achievements and innovative ideas that can contribute to mitigating national and global challenges.Actions and synergies realized in a spirit of boldness and extroversion. A vivid community of people that implements public benefit actions in the fields of sciences, culture, and health.
The Association’s Organization
The Onassis Scholars’ Association is a registered association. The Organs of the Association are the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, and the Audit Committee. The Members are the Association. All regular members who have fulfilled their financial obligations towards the Association reserve the right to vote and to submit nominations. To achieve polyphony and diversity in favor of the Association, all its members, old and new, are encouraged to nominate at least once for the Board of Directors.
Open calls for annual actions related to Education, Health, and Culture
Do you have an innovative idea? You can receive support for realizing your action by participating in our Open Calls. Through diverse actions, an ecosystem that supports scholars and collaboration is generated, while concurrently, it paves the way towards creative encounters between art, health sciences, entrepreneurship, research, and innovation.Special Grant and Support Program and Academic Article Publication Support Program
The extended family of the Scholars’ Association consists of more than 2,500 members. Families support and sustain each other while nurturing and unleashing potential. In this framework, since 1999, the Onassis Foundation has instituted the Special Grant and Support Program for members of the Association, and since 2013, the Onassis Foundation and the Scholars’ Association have introduced the Academic Article Publication Support Program. Over the course of its operation, the Special Grant and Support Program has awarded grants to 110 members of the Association.
Member Networking Activities
First, we connect our members and then we connect with the world. Take part in our activities (cultural activities, meetings & excursions, online meetings, etc.) and meet new and old fellows.
Scholars Network
As a network of a large number of people active around the world, it is important to connect and communicate online, through different ways of communicating and networking. Share your unique success story, which aligns with the values and actions of the Association and the Onassis Foundation, either on onassis.org or the Association's social media. Network Locally: The Association wants to help its members meet with other members who live in the same city or work in the same scientific field, establishing fruitful exchange and communication networks.
