Anna-Maria Kypraiou in Cambridge

Anna-Maria Kypraiou believed in a more sustainable world. With Chemical Engineering studies at the National Technical University of Athens as a starting point, she completed her PhD in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, specializing in energy systems optimization. Her research focuses on developing innovative technologies to address climate change. In recent years, she has been a Fellow and Director of Engineering Studies at various Colleges at the University of Cambridge, where she has contributed to sustainability and optimization initiatives regarding energy systems.

Her most significant achievement is the development of “Eyesense,” an innovative building energy management system that aims to reduce carbon emissions and enhance the well-being and prosperity of individuals in the modern urban environment.

As a female engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur, Anna-Maria has encountered significant obstacles along the way. As she explains, “Promoting energy-saving solutions and technologies in traditional industries, such as shipping and the building sector, there is often difficulty in adopting innovative methods.” In her case, the difficulties did not stop her. With perseverance and hard work, Anna-Maria has focused on continuously developing her technical skills to prove the value and advantages of the technologies she designs.

Her vision is to inspire future generations to realize their dreams, face challenges with confidence, and become the best version of themselves.

“The problems of the modern world should not discourage you. They challenge you to become the best version of yourself.”
