Michalis Pitidis: Artist in exchange in the context of "ULYSSES: European Odyssey”
Photo: Despoina Stavridi
The work of Michalis Pitidis is centered around the fields of architecture and theater. He works as an actor, dramaturg, director, and architect. In the field of theater, his work is based on the research of reality through interviews, archives, personal narratives, literature, diaries and oral traditions. The themes have to do with public space and discourse. He is interested in mixing the elements of research with fictional elements as well as personal narratives. Using space composition tools borrowed from architecture, his work is based on mixing reality, fiction and personal narratives in ways that aim for a new dramaturgy that can be staged.
Michalis Pitidis is an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2023/24 within the framework of the Ulysses European project, that is co-funded by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union.Photos taken by Michalis Pitidis during his artist exchange in Berlin, in collaboration with Rimini Protokoll.
