Emma Saba: #OPERAPORN

With #OPERAPORN, Emma Saba continues her attempt to dismantle and reappropriate her classical music heritage. Bringing the virtuosity of the opera genre towards a deceptive universe, Saba researches love duets and serenades from the repertory of eighteenth-century Italian and German opera. In collaboration with musician Maria Delprat, they work on the scores and the librettos to dig into the gap between this tradition and their voices.

Since 2020, Saba has been developing autohypnosis scores to embody and “dirty” classical music. In her performances, she is interested in transposing the spectacular into an intimate space and the intimate into a public space.
