Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings
The Onassis Foundation, official body of representation for Greece in the globally acknowledged Science Forum
From 2009 to 2019, the Onassis Foundation has been an official academic affiliate of the institution, having financed the attendance of 67 young Greeks: a choice which speaks of the Foundation’s faith in the release of the potential of society.
For hundreds of young researchers, the Scientific Meetings in Lindau, Bavaria (Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings) are the event of the year. It’s where everything that is going on today as well as what the future society will know about is discussed: from the latest applications of biomedicine to new economic models. 30 Nobelists annually meet 500-600 undergraduate and post-graduate students, PhD holders, or post doc researchers. As of 2004, the agenda has incorporated Economic Studies, and every three years, a meeting regarding this subject matter is held. From 2009 to 2019, the Onassis Foundation was the official academic affiliate of the institution, having financed the attendance of 67 young Greeks: a choice which speaks of the Foundation’s faith in the release of the potential of society. The preliminary selection was made by the Scientific Committee of the Foundation, which is presided by the Academic and Professor of Particle Physics, Dimitris Nanopoulos.
