Entrance to all the events in the “Talks and Thoughts” Cycle is free and on a first come, first served basis.
The distribution of entrance tickets begins one (1) hour before each event.
Simultaneous translation is provided in the case of speakers using a language other than Greek.

The “Private and public on the Internet” cycle seeks to explore how we have come in recent years to attribute the features of a public place to the Internet.

In a country like Greece which has always had a weak—and, according to some, a non-existent—civil society, how have we exploited the opportunities the Internet provides to strengthen it? Have Internet users increased their voluntary participation in civil society organizations offline? And what role does online civil society play in Greek public life?

The “Private and public on the Internet” cycle seeks to explore how we have come in recent years to attribute the features of a public place to the Internet. For better or worse, we tend to take it for granted that the freedoms, rights and obligations that govern our behaviour and relationships in public space apply, or at least should apply, as they stand in cyberspace. But is that actually the case?
