On Sunday, February 4, the Onassis Foundation, in partnership with the Kalogeropouleio Foundation, will realize a unique educational program full of riddles, stories, paintings, and symbols, drawing inspiration from the “Charta of Rigas Velestinlis,” in the event hall of the Foundation in Corinth.
Meet up close with the author and illustrator Lida Varvarousi, who will travel this time to Corinth along with the “Charta” and greet you at the Kalogeropouleio Foundation, in order to solve riddles and decipher the messages that Rigas wanted to disseminate towards an independent Greece on the eve of the Revolution of 1821.
Painting, storytelling, prose, movement, and a process of animating materials compose the experience of a singular storytelling art that becomes a guide on a journey of knowledge, unlocking doors to imagination, expression, and creativity.
Get to know the unknown stories of coins, ancient monuments, historical battles, mythical heroes, kings, and philosophers, and draw inspiration to create your own symbols, ones brimming with meaning. At the workshop’s end, grab your painting palette, become inspired, and create your own works, while with the help of the Augmented Reality application Riga’s Charta, discover the secret symbols of the “Charta” and see them come to life before your eyes.
Accept the challenge of this map and experience for a spell the adventure that the story of Rigas Velestinlis promises.
