How do you set up a stage work in two days? Here’s your chance to experience the consecutive set-up of two performances that have been touring for years – “RELIC” and “TITANS” – alongside their creator, Euripides Laskaridis.

“RELIC” and “TITANS” (two works that have been touring Europe and beyond successfully for years), their creator, and just a few days in which to set everything up in time to open the Onassis New Choreographers Festival 7.

How do you set up a stage work in two days? An experience consisted of three parts, held during the set-up of two stage works, with an accompanying discussion with their creator, Euripides Laskaridis.

Over the first two days, participants are invited to enter the “kitchen” where performances are made, to watch the installation of the set, the hanging of the lights, the testing of the props, the sound check, the technical rehearsals, and the overarching process of setting up a touring work. It’s true that the international touring experience often throws up problems that require complex solutions in the face of limited means and minimal reaction times. At the same time, however, it retains a certain magic, despite the stress and hard work involved.

A few days later, at the third meeting, participants will join Euripides Laskaridis to share any concerns, comments and queries they may have about what they experienced. This Greek artist will describe his methods and discuss the experience he has gained over years spent touring round international festivals and contemporary performing arts venues.
