Time & Date
For this edition, discover what our current Onassis AiR Fellows have been crafting through a night of performances, soundscapes, installations, and presentations. Throughout the evening, you will have the chance to connect and explore the research and projects by Margarita Athanasiou, Khaleb Brooks, Sofia Dona, Kyriaki Goni, Ellpetha Tsivicos, and STEGI.RADIO.
For the last Open Day of this year, we are joining forces with our beloved STEGI.RADIO. Onassis AiR will be hosting the first iteration of Electric Cafe by STEGI.RADIO, a meeting point for the creative scene of Athens, a hub for producers, artists, and communities. Electric Cafe is an invitation to gather under the same roof and be present with each other, open to fresh ideas and yet-to-be-unearthed tastes and sonic combinations. An opportunity to solidify communal bonds while being immersed in music.Program

Participating research projects
Margarita Athanasiou - Voices
A sneak peek into the ongoing project “Voices”, an interactive video essay exploring channeling practices and their historical relationship to female agency. Athanasiou has conducted extensive research on the history of spiritualism, theosophy, and New Age movements, centering on the lives of female channelers and spirit mediums. In “Voices” she weaves in and out of biographies, contextual frameworks, and belief systems to create a visual and narrative collage, ultimately about the ways we travel to find our own voice.
Khaleb Brooks - Jupiter’s Song Revived
“Wayward Watermelons”: Through sound, movement, and poetry, artist Khaleb Brooks will deep dive into the waters of the Middle Passage, intertwining the cities of Liverpool, Rio de Janeiro with Palestine. Based on archival research and lived experience, the artist will explore sites of subjugation and offers witnessing and rituals to honor struggles for liberation.
Sofia Dona - Retire
“Retire” aims to document the changes taking place in Athens during the last years, focusing on the top floors of the city’s buildings. It uses the word “retire” – that means to “withdraw”, to “retreat” – as a metaphor connected both to the buildings’ architectural terminology (retiré) and to the common practice of relocating to cities of the Mediterranean.Kyriaki Goni - The distance between our eyes
“eyes like flowers”: How are machine learning systems trained to interpret the world? Kyriaki Goni explores algorithmic processes, data sets, bodies, and landscapes in the attention economy. The webpoem “eyes like flowers” is part of her ongoing research “the distance between (y)our eyes”. During this Open Day, Kyriaki Goni’s “Nomadic Node 1, Networks of Trust” will be also active for audience interaction.
Ellpetha Tsivicos - CHAK
A short performance with movement, text, sound, and costume/mask by Ellpetha Tsivicos, Camilo Quiroz-Vázquez, Chrysso Cosmos, and Talisa Velázquez, inspired by their new piece “CHÄK”. The artists will use selected text and themes from “CHÄK” to give a taste of the visual, aural, and surreal worlds and aesthetics that they are developing. Their aesthetic of Magical Urbanism examines the ancient traditions of their cultures in a modern and accessible setting while integrating other methodologies and cultural perspectives into their work.
Electric Cafe by STEGI.RADIO
For its first iteration, Electric Cafe presents a 3-hour ambient micro-universe created jointly by Mohamy and Local Ex [Room 1] and a pop-up improv dance performance by DJ Miss Trouli and dancer/choreographer Despina Sanida Crezia [Room 2].
