A Meeting For Industrial Design

Although we probably don’t spare it much thought, all the objects that surround us (from our armchair and the remote controls in our home to our car) are works which have been designed by a designer.

These specialists work in industrial design, an area which remains underdeveloped in Greece, largely because of our weak domestic manufacturing sector. However, Greek designers do exist, and are actually making their presence felt, albeit chiefly abroad. In fact, the production and export of Greek design products have been on the rise of late, primarily thanks to tools like the Internet, social media and alternative sources of funding.

It is the people who have made this possible, these men and women of action and creativity, that the fifth annual industrial design meeting seeks to put in the spotlight. The event aims to bring together design insiders so they can evaluate each other’s work, exchange experiences, views and quests and communicate with a broader public.
