Introduction

What could happen if you fill a room with strangers? Taking this question as their starting point, 600 HIGHWAYMEN invite 46 Athenians, none of them actors and none of them acquainted, to meet for the first time on stage.

What could happen if you fill a room with strangers? Taking this question as their starting point, 600 HIGHWAYMEN invited 46 Athenians, none of them actors and none of them acquainted, to come together on stage for 61 minutes. Accompanied by live music, the 46 participants become ‘performers for a night’. With their presence, their movement and immobility, their gaze and their silence, they produce a monumental composition on the importance of existing, coexisting and being present in the ‘here and now’.

A hymn to live theatre, to the sanctity of the moment and the importance of community, collectivity and individuality, it is also an unforgettable live performances whose subject is us now and our wanderings in the sea of humanity. This is "The Record", the hit from New York’s “Under the Radar” festival.

Partners in life and in the theatre, the creators of "The Record" are the young Obie-award-winning directors and dramatists Abigail Browde and Michael Silverstone, aka the 600 HIGHWAYMEN, who have been invited to the Onassis Stegi to make their Greek debut.
