Jo Nesbο will be in Athens to celebrate the twenty-year anniversary of the publication of his first novel. Born in 1960, the journey of this important writer shows his restless spirit. Before becoming a writer, this non-conformist and adventurous Norwegian had a brief career in football and an even shorter one as a stockbroker. He was also a successful pop star in Norway. One day he decided to turn to writing and write a story about what he considers as the only elements worth writing for: crime and love.
During a flight from Oslo to Sydney, Nesbο wrote his first novel "The Bat", for which he won the 1997 Riverton Prize for Best Norwegian Crime Novel of the Year. Thus the legendary detective Harry Hole was born. One of the most popular literary characters of our times, he celebrates twenty years since the publication of the first book of the series. During these two decades, Nesbo’s dark and exciting novels as well as his scripts for films and television have turned him into one of the leading representatives of crime fiction. In 2017, the film adaptation of his novel "The Snowman" will receive its international premiere, starring Michael Fassbender.
All of Jo Nesbo's books have been published in Greek by Metaichmio Publications. His books will be available for purchase in the ground-floor foyer of the Onassis Stegi.
Jo Nesbo will be participating in a book signing session at the end of the event.
