An extremely timely forum on the young people's involvement in politics, the impact of their involvement, and the newfound ways with which the youth acquires political power.
While today’s youth is increasingly faced with social and personal challenges, it is time to discuss what role young people’s role will be in shaping tomorrow’s politics in terms of agenda setting, social and political engagement.
Should young people run for office? Can you engage with politics outside the organized political parties? Does blogging, tweeting, sharing and liking constitute meaningful forms of political participation, or is it just a waste of time? What do young people bring to the table in terms of a new and improved political premise?
Intelligence Squared Greece and the Onassis Cultural Centre, with the support of the Foundation for Youth and the British Council, are organising an open forum to discuss the importance of young participation in politics, and its changing forms.
Speakers from Greece and abroad will each present their own experience and opinions on how young people can meaningfully engage with politics, explain why they should, and discuss with the audience.
Free admission.
