SPIN (2021)

Two rotating bodies between which constantly changing sound fields unfold are at the center of the sound sculpture “SPIN” by digital artist Lucas Gutierrez and sound artist Robert Lippok. Their vibrant surface is illuminated by restless reflections of a light source constantly on the move, to a soundscape composed of hundreds of sound recordings of objects, machines, and different environments. It is as if the artist duo sets out to design a new kind of nature: “SPIN” sensualizes a form of ecology that is environment and body, and whose animate matter communicates with us through transformation, association, and unpredictable change.
