Yiannis Nikolaidis

Yiannis Nikolaidis was born in Athens and graduated from the State School of Dance in 2002. Since then, he has performed diverse work for many contemporary dance companies, including Zita, Proschima, Lathos Kinisi, Oktana, Medea Electronique, and Yelp, and choreographers such as Dimitris Papaioannou, Andonis Foniadakis, and Angeliki Stellatou. He has been a member of Griffon Dance Company since 2003 and Blitz Theatre Group between 2012–2018.
In his work as director and choreographer, he has developed an eye for the camera during the last ten years, choreographing TV spots and short videos. Works for the stage include “Action XT” (2007); “Hound Dogs” (2011); “Blindspot” (2013), presented in London, Zagreb, and Sofia as part of the “City to City Cabaret” project (2013); “L'après midi d'un faune 100 + 1 years later” (2013) at the International Dance Festival of Kalamata; “Knight Rider,” as part of MicroDances 2020 (Athens, Greek National Opera Ballet; Brussels; Reggio Emilia); and “Shifting Time” (2023–24).
Yiannis Nikolaidis has taught in contemporary dance and drama schools in Athens since 2012.
