Yannis Makridakis

Yannis Makridakis was born and raised in the island of Chios. He has written short stories and novels published by Estia. His works have been adapted for the theatre and cinema and have been translated into French and Turkish.

He was the founder and director of the Chios Study Center “Pelineo”, which from 1997 to 2010 published a magazine of the same name and other editions related to the nature, history, and culture of the island. In recent years he has also been a conscious mastic resin producer.
