Vladimir Miller is a participant of The School of Infinite Rehearsals of Onassis AiR 2021-22.
Vladimir Miller is an artist with a practice that focuses on collaborative research, education and spatial organization. His work aims at re-negotiating modalities of spatial production in collaborative research settings. He uses collective building processes within institutional environments to shift the relationship between practice, space and authorship towards commoning and self-organization. As program curator and mentor at a.pass, Brussels and other institutions he facilitates collaborative environments and research trajectories in educational settings. Within exhibition and performance settings such as KANAL-Centre Pompidou in Brussels or ImPulsTanz-Vienna International Dance Festival, this practice produces open and temporary work and exhibition environments.
Vladimir Miller is currently completing his doctoral thesis at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna (PhD in Practice), where he was part of the «Spaces of Commoning» research group and co-edited the resulting publication. He was a lecturer in Scenography at the University of Hamburg and at KASK / School of Arts Ghent and guest professor at the Institute for Applied Theatre Sciences at the Justus Liebig University Giessen. He was a fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude and at the Institut für Raumexperimente.
In his performance and theatre practice Vladimir Miller has been a frequent collaborator with the choreographers and artists Philipp Gehmacher, Meg Stuart, Anne Juren, Jozef Wouters, Claudia Bosse, Moritz Frischkorn, Maria Scaroni and others. His practice of collaborative performance-making incorporates scenography, sculpture, video, directing, dramaturgy and performance in varying combinations.
Vladimir Miller is the curator of Cycle 3 of the a.pass Research Center.
