Vidal Bini

Vidal Bini

Vidal Bini is a dancer and choreographer. However, his work cannot be summed up in the dance field alone. Surrounded by visual artists, musicians, and improvisers from various disciplines, he creates performances at the crossroads of several art forms, from which multi-faceted objects emerge. These are singular works, in which experimentation and unexpectedness are welcome, with the audience as close as possible to the action or sometimes even invited to participate. For KiloHertZ’s projects, he has brought together an artistic, technical, and administrative team that today forms a company.

Born in France, he studied at the École de Danse de l’Opéra and the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris. He joined the Ballet de l’Opéra du Rhin in 2000, and became a freelance artist in 2003. He worked with Felix Ruckert between 2003 and 2010, with le Grand Jeu (Louis Ziegler) since 2003, with Clément Layes or S-H-I-F-T-S in Berlin, with Perrine Maurin / Les patries imaginaires in Nancy and Céline Larrere / Cie Morula in Bersaillin. Also working with amateur dancers and youth, he is developing a practice based not on a specific dance technique but rather on the knowledge and awareness of human anatomy, as well as its possibilities for movement. Since 2016, he is the artistic director of the Théâtre du Marché aux Grains – Atelier de Fabrique Artistique in Bouxwiller.

Vidal Bini is accompanied by The Opéra national du Rhin Ballet, and is an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2024/25 in the framework of Grand Luxe Network.

Onassis Stegi’s participation in the network is developed as part of its Outward Turn Program initiatives.
